The MMSU – College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology (CASAT) is a satellite College in the Southern portion of Ilocos Norte. Situated at the front of Currimao Bay, the CASAT campus is suitable for the two offerings of the College, namely, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology. These programs conform to the standards set forth in their respective Policies, Standards, and Guidelines (PSG’s) with some enrichments as approved by the Board of Regents.

The College was initially named as College of Fisheries; then in 2004, the College was renamed as the College of Aquatic Sciences and Applied Technology (CASAT) to encompass all aspects of aquatic sciences and marine biology, as well as the emerging new technologies related to these fields of specialization.

Since August 2009, the College has maintained its status as National University of Fisheries - recognition conferred by the National Agriculture and Fisheries Education System (NAFES) through the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and has received three tranches of Php1M financial assistance from the Commission. This 2021, CHED once again approved the implementation of another Php1M worth NAFES project for the upgrading of facilities of CASAT.
